Overview
Dingle is small, remote and the better for it. The town is a working fishing harbour with a disproportionate number of pubs and a strong traditional music scene. Slea Head Drive around the peninsula takes in cliffs, beehive huts and views of the Blasket Islands. Parts of the peninsula are Gaeltacht. Roughly four hours from Dublin by road.

Where to stay
Dingle, while compact, offers a few distinct zones for visitors. Dingle Town Centre itself is the heart of the action, a colourful collection of shops, pubs, restaurants, and guesthouses. Staying here puts you right in the middle of the buzz, with easy access to the harbour, live music, and all amenities. It's perfect for those who want convenience and a lively atmosphere.
The Dingle Harbour & Coastline area, just a stone's throw from the town, offers stunning sea views and a slightly more tranquil setting. Many hotels and B&Bs here boast beautiful vistas and are ideal for those who enjoy waking up to the sound of the sea. It's also the departure point for boat trips.
Venturing further out along the Slea Head Drive, you'll find charming self-catering cottages and more secluded guesthouses nestled into the landscape. This area is perfect for those seeking ultimate peace, quiet, and unparalleled access to the peninsula's dramatic scenery, ancient sites, and pristine beaches. It requires a car for convenient access to Dingle Town, but rewards visitors with an immersive rural Irish experience.
