Overview
Tenerife is the biggest of the Canary Islands and the one most Irish travellers reach for when the evenings close in. The south around Playa de las Americas and Costa Adeje is built for winter sun and reliable warmth; the north is greener, cooler and far quieter. Mount Teide, the highest point in Spain, sits in the middle of the island and is a day trip in its own right.
